Dewbackpatrol checked out the first annual ComiCONN today in North Haven, Connecticut. Along with my two padawans, we arrived about 9:50 at the Holiday Inn. While waiting to enter we were treated to a Bikerscout, Stormtrooper, and Commander Gree walking the line. This really helped with the short wait to get in. Once in we looked around the dealer room. We frequented many of the venders that had Star Wars offerings and even picked up a Plourr Ilo and Dllr Nep comic two pack. It was great to get this set without paying shipping. I got it for $18.00 which is great seeing as Entertainment Earth's price was $15.99 (before tax and shipping). I also picked up some older figures that I missed Momaw Nadon and Hem Dazon carded for $5.00 each (much better then getting them off Ebay and paying shipping costs). Next it was off to the R2 Builder panel with Dana Powers. This was a truly facinating panel all about how Mr. Powers created his own R2-D2. I was stunned to hear that depending on what is used for parts, that a R2 could be made for as cheaply as $1,000 and as much as $40,000. Mr. Powers certainly was having fun and even had himself as well as his two kids dressed in Indiana Jones costumes. His kids were dressed as Short Round and Willie and Mr. Powers later changed into an incredible Indiana Jones costume. Following the panel we hit hit up the dealer room again and had some awesome meetings with Boba Fett, Darth Vader, Mara Jade (my daughter's favorite), an X-Wing pilot, Jedi, and much, much more.

If you get the chance run down there today and check it out! Mitchell Hallock and Erik Yacko did a fantastic job and I (as well as my kids) can't wait for next year!!! It truly was a fun filled day.
