The Legacy Collection
Wave 7
Bulid-a-Droid #46
Owen Lars
Accessories
Owen is packed with a rifle so that he can take target practice I guess. It is nice that we get weapon though. He is also packed with a droid part to the build-a-droid HK-47.
Look and Feel
I think this is a great representation of Owen. The robe mirrors the screen version very well. His five o'clock shadow seems too be a bit to dark but that is really nit picking his look. If you are looking for a nondescript Jedi, a simple head swap will yield you one.
Articulation
The Owen figure has less articulation than I would have liked. Like his girlfriend and future wife he has no ankle articulation and his waist, hips, and wrist are swivel. The rest of his body does have ball-hinges except for his torso where he has no articluation. Hasbro's reasoning is probably that all Owen does in the movie is either sit or stand so there is no need to put this figure in an action pose, but with that awesome rifle my imagination runs wild.
Overall Reaction
I really like this figure a lot and unlike Beru I see the opportunity for child play value as well as collector dioramas. If nothing else Owen almost looks like a Jedi without the lightsaber and what little boy wouldn't want an action figure with a cool looking gun. I am actually toying with the idea of picking up another for customizing. Very solid figure all in all.
