 Hasbro Toy Fair 2010 Q&A Session and Hasbro PPT Presentation Download
Now that my bones have thawed from walking around NYC, I can update with the live Hasbro Q&A. I will be paraphrasing:
1. Q - Will the Star Tours set be available w/o having to go to the park?
A - Yes, it should be available at once upon a toy, Disney's ordering system.
2. Q - If exclusives are canceled by a retailer, would they be available online instead?
A - We would find some way to get the exclusive out, another retailer, online, or something.
3. Q - Are the FX lightsaber blades [which will now be removeable] interchangeable?
A - Not sure, probably but we will have to check. The focus was more on authenticity.
4. Q - Are there plans for Force Unleashed 2 figures?
A - Yes, but no details yet!
5. Q - The previous Vintage series was higher priced, will this one be?
A - No, they will be the same as the current Legacy, $7.99. Clone Wars and Legends will be decreasing by $1.00 to $6.99 [call me shocked!]
6. Q - Will the Vintage line be the old style punch or j-hook?
A - Old style punch with a plastic piece to prevent the cardboard from tearing. Not sure if the punch will be removed as cases are hung by employees [meaning the cases would be unpunched] or if cases will arrive already unpunched [I believe the later -Rozwell].
7. Q - The Clone Wars cards and movie line cards look too similar and no employee can tell the difference [laughs]. Can't you differentiate them so it's obvious?
A - Lucasfilm determines the style because the line needs to have a uniform look on the shelves. Still, the new Vintage line looks different enough and "stands alone" on the shelves.
8. Q - Will there be a large vehicle for 2011?
A - We hope so but it depends on the sales of the AT-AT. You will have to a year from now to find out. One fan yelled we want a Jabba's Sail Barge to which Darryl replied: "we do too".
Darryl DePriest also mentioned that the Vintage vehicles [Cloud Car and Snowspeeder] would have authentic vintage packaging. The AT-AT would be released in both the new packaging and the Vintage packaging. The Vintage packaging will be a TRU exclusive.
