UPDATE: We have an answer to question #3, see below...
Here are the answers to our questions sent in on 11/13. We are 1 answer short but it is expected to arrive soon. Enjoy!

1. With next years line up completed can we get some of my favorite info? How many Legacy figures? How many CW figures? What movies will be represented? How many waves? How many figures from each movie? How many comic packs? How many of the super build a droid figures that I hope continue? Any info would be great! Thanks!
– Dewbackunter

In the Legacy-type line, there will be one EU-focused wave to close out the red/white line look, and then a gap until August when the new movie-focused line will debut. This wave will feature the last of the buildable Droid Factory figures. In Fall, there will be waves for EpII, II, V, and VI (although not in that order) with about 24 new/retooled characters for Fall debuting along with a number of "greatest hits" (package refreshed) to round out the waves. There are about 32 new Clone Wars characters between spring and Fall. The last Comic Pack wave will be the Fall 2010 wave shown at Comic Con which will be out sometime in March; the Spring 2010 Comic Packs have been canceled, but we are looking for opportunities to bring these figures out in 2011.

2. Collectors are noticing a particular pattern with the Legacy/BAD waves lately. Often, a wave hits a store only once and is snatched up completely by one collector (including myself). In many cases, news waves completely skip stores. I could hit 10-20 stores in a day and find nothing that I am looking for (I don’t usually hit 20 in a day but it has happened). This leaves many collectors with only the option of purchasing figures online. That is not always the best option for collectors who care about perfect paint applications (I hate crooked eyes) or perfect card condition. And, sometimes army builders snatch up multiples so they sell out very quickly. Is this the future of SW collecting?
– Rozwell

You are seeing a situation that is due to several factors (lower collector demand, higher retail inventories, the need to deliver all of the red/white Legacy waves we ave shown), and a resulting retail situation that we think will be temporary. Due to the large abundance of previous Legacy figures, we have taken to supplying retail slightly differently to ensure that new waves do indeed get out to retail. It has meant in some cases, that a smaller number of any wave will get out there, rather than risk skipping some stores entirely if they currently don't need inventory. We think that after the holidays we should be straightened out and will be back to a situation where we can turn on automatic replenishment once again. We can confirm that production runs of the current Legacy red/white line look are the smallest they have been in the past five years, which is in reaction to our need to match production to the actual active collector population which has declined significantly in the past 16 or so months. We have been giving folks a heads-up int he Q&A for a while now that this going to be the case, since it's the only way to ensure that we continue with a healthy collector-based figure business. The way we used to manage our Legacy-type figures had to change to react to demand, so the new way of lower batch size ensures tat new figures can continue to flow in. A corollary of that is that there may not be an ample supply of the "greatest hits" type figures, including troop builders, since there are fewer remix type of waves that we typically deliver between main waves to keep retail demands fed. Instead, we have cut back to pretty much the "primary" (new figure) waves and so this puts something of a cap on the greatest hit like Luke, Darth Vader, R2-D2, and the like that we would usually produce wave in, wave out. We are more closely matched to the collector figures, currently, in order to bring in all of the waves we've developed. It is not our intention to deliberately short demand, but to make sure that the fans who want the figures can get them. Our strategy for the mass retailers is to make sure that the new waves get out as soon as they are available, which means that we will start shipping the new wave when we get them into our warehouse, even if it means holding back on supplies of previous waves if we have not finished shipping them yet. As we have windows to ship previous waves, we will fill in with those. Meanwhile, Internet retailers can order specific waves for which we still have supply, meaning that they can continue to be a safety valve for collectors in cases where demand is running higher than the supply in their local stores.

3. Recently I watched the Clone Wars movie and Episode "Rookies" with my son. During our viewing we both noticed that the shuttle that delivers Ahsoka, Commander Cody, and Captain Rex is a very cool ship and definitely has the feel of the Imperial Shuttle. Has Hasbro looked into creating this vehicle?
–Empire1980

*UPDATE: We have not looked into this ship per se, since the shuttles are typically not the first combat-oriented vehicles that kids want to lay out the Clone Wars (which is why we focus on things like the AT-TE, Turbo Tank, Republic Gunship, Y-Wing, and smaller Starfighters and tanks). We do not rule out the idea of doing a shuttle, but we would need to really beef that baby up in terms of play features to make it really cool so kids everywhere will step up and say "I have to have THAT!"

Wow! when you give good questions you get back huge detailed answers!

Good job all!

Now having said that I see no signs that retailers want to add additional toys to theirs stores (where I work the "mart" has us reducing case sizes from 12 count to 2 count, they do not want excess stock on hand- that's with most of our products- I would guess that they'd act the same to toy manufactures) - Target and Walmart have the smallest toy sections in recent memory- no one wants to sit on toys that are not moving so whatever the situation is I be will continue as is way into 2010- that means it's going to be harder to find the figures after the 1st drop.

Gonna have to really ramp up this helpful collector community to ensure that we all get what we want.

I hear that! I hooked up Dewbackhunter with the Darth Kryat pack today. I am only on the look out for the A New Hope Wave. I am starting to think about the internet to bag this wave. I am really wishing I had hopped on those figures like you guys did on-line!

Who knows that may be the way of things moving forward.

I'm all for buying on the internet, but only through toy r us or hasbro. I have a hard time with brians toys only because between his mark up and shipping its like 10 bucks a figure, and i refuse to pay that for evvery figure ( only the really cool ones ). I have been pretty good about finding figures I've been getting like a sixth sense when it comes to finding them. This last set the Empire wave was a great find I still need the Luke though i need to finish the Hk50 droid. Speaking of droid parts i have plenty if anyone needs them.

I don't suppose you have the parts from the Han Solo Stormtooper or the R2-D2 Jawa attack figures.
